Our projects.
Over the course of our careers, we’ve worked on the below books—and book-related podcasts—among many others:
A special podcast series for WNYC’s On the Media. Winner of a 2017 Newswomen’s Club of New York Award for In-Depth Reporting.
In 2019, we partnered with WNYC Studio’s ON THE MEDIA and author Matthew Desmond and his Princeton University Eviction Lab to create this podcast and broadcast series about eviction. Over a period of many months, we worked to identify the human stories that would bring Eviction Lab data to life, reporting from the field alongside On the Media host and veteran correspondent Brooke Gladstone.
In 2018, Unfurl partnered with author Matthew Desmond and The National Building Museum in Washington DC to create media installations for an exhibition on America’s eviction crisis. Inspired by the Pulitzer Prize-winning book, Evicted, our installations took visitors on the journeys of tenants facing evictions, told through powerful first-person testimony, soundscapes and still photography. The exhibition later traveled nationally. We also adapted the exhibit content for sharing on social media and Desmond’s Eviction Lab site.
In 2018 we formed AMPERSOUND, a podcast producing partnership with renowned TV company Part 2 Pictures. Development projects have included a podcast series with journalists Lisa and Laura Ling and a literary podcast with Glory Edim, the founder of Well-Read Black Girl, a book club-turned-online community and festival.
A pilot podcast series with author Tara Clancy for The Moth entitled The Regulars, a hybrid of interview, documentary and comedy.
